Biography

Simon went to sea at 16 as a deck cadet in the Royal Fleet Auxilliary. A move into cruise ships saw him working for P&O/Princess Cruises and Holland America Line. His final sea-going appointment was with Stena Line, working on fast ferries in the Irish Sea.

Simon has previously worked at Warsash in the areas of maritime safety and bridge simulation. He is now a principal lecturer in the School of Management and Postgraduate Studies where he is responsible to the Head of School for the Solent Enterprise Centre in Maritime Management.

Simon has an MSc in Safety Management.
