Solent Students' Union

Solent Students' Union logoSouthampton Solent University’s Students’ Union is more than just a place to relax, eat food, buy study supplies and attend after-hours events in the bars; it also offers much more that many students may not be aware of. As a Union, Solent SU exists to:

  • promote and advance the education and general welfare of all students at Southampton Solent University
  • provide and develop social, cultural and sporting activities amongst the students at the University
  • act as a link between all students and the University itself
  • represent and uphold the general interests of all students within the University. All Solent University students are members of the Students’ Union from day one – no registration is required.

The Students’ Union building can be found near the car park behind the main University building at East Park Terrace.

The Student Services facility includes:

  • an advice centre service
  • access to clubs and societies
  • opportunities for volunteering
  • activities to enhance your course and build your skills and experiences
  • and much more!

Students’ Union Advice Service

The Advice Service provides a source of assistance, enabling students to communicate with an impartial voice, and deals with all the issues surrounding student life, living and learning, including:

  • academic support
  • support with living away from home
  • health and general wellbeing advice
  • housing advice.

Sabbatical team

The sabbatical officers are elected by the student body on an annual basis to act as representatives of Solent students, working with and for students to ensure that they get the best that they can from their time at University. They are all recent graduates so are likely to understand any student issues from a similar viewpoint.
