Medical requirements
All candidates must be in good health and be capable of passing
a mandatory medical examination. Deck officer cadets must have a
good standard of eyesight.
Age limits for entry
The minimum age is 16 and the upper limit is typically 21 but companies
may vary the upper age limit according to their own individual policies.
Sponsorship
There are a number of companies that recruit cadets.
These are either individual shipping companies or manning companies
