Oficer Cadet passing-Out Ceremony - June 2007
On Saturday 23 June 2007 sixty three Deck, Engine and Electro-Technical Officer Cadets celebrated the successful conclusion of their cadetship at the Passing Out Ceremony held at the Guildhall in Southampton. The cadets were supported by family, friends, company representatives and Academy staff who joined them to mark the end of their three year cadetship. The ceremony included the presentation of a number of awards for achievement, which are detailed below. Bob Joughin, Deputy Director of Warsash Maritime Academy, gave an address in which he congratulated the cadets on their success and asked them to reflect on the support that they had received from family, company and lecturing staff throughout the sometimes challenging training programme. Don Millar of Carnival UK gave an address on behalf of the industry and encouraged cadets to take full advantage of the career prospects that were now open to them.
