bank of the Hamble River overlooking Southampton Water. Southampton,
Portsmouth, Bournemouth and the New Forest are within easy reach
and London is easily accessible via good road and rail links.

By Road
From the west: exit the M27 at junction 8 taking the third exit
towards the A27. Remain in the nearside lane approaching the Windhover
roundabout. Take the first exit onto the A27 towards Fareham. Continue
for 2½ miles (crossing the River Hamble at Swanwick Marina)
and then turn right at the top of the hill, by the church in Sarisbury
Green, into Barnes Lane. At the end of Barnes Lane turn right into
Brook Lane. After ¾ mile you will reach the Warsash village
mini roundabout. Go straight over into Newtown Road. Warsash Maritime Academy is approximately ½ mile ahead on the right hand side.
From the east: exit the M27 at junction 9 turning
left at the end of the slip road towards the Sedgensworth roundabout
on the A27. Stay in the offside lane approaching this roundabout.
Take the westbound A27 exit towards Park Gate (not Warsash). Continue
on the A27 over two further roundabouts. At the third roundabout
(Esso garage on left) turn left into Brook Lane. On reaching the
next roundabout take the 3rd exit (still Brook Lane). Continue for
1 mile until you reach Warsash village mini roundabout. Go straight
over into Newtown Road. Warsash Maritime Academy is approximately
½ mile ahead on the right hand side.

By Air
From Heathrow: Take the Southwest Trains coach link to Woking and
travel by rail from Woking to Southampton Airport Parkway where
there is a taxi rank. Journey time is approximately 2hours.
From Gatwick: Take a train to Fareham, where there
is a taxi rank. Journey time is approximately 2 hours.
Other airports serving the area include Southampton
International Airport (Airport Parkway station) and Bournemouth
International Airport, both have flights to/from a number of European
cities.
By Rail
From London area: travel to Southampton Airport Parkway where there
is a taxi rank.
From Gatwick, Brighton area: travel to Fareham where
there is a taxi rank.
The nearest station to WMA is Swanwick. This station
is on the line between Southampton Central (from west and London)
and Fareham (from east). This station does not have a taxi rank.

By Bus
The No.57 runs between Portsmouth and Warsash Fareham, Portsmouth
& Southsea and Fratton (Portsmouth) stations are on its route.
The No. 72 runs from Southampton City Centre to Gosport,
via Warsash village.
Bus routes are subject to change. There is also a

A free bus service operates between Warsash Maritime Academy and Southampton Solent University, East Park Terrace, Southampton.
(this service will only stop/collect at these two points.) This
bus operates at limited times and not at weekends.
By Taxi
The companies we use are Radio Taxis (01489 573573) and Airport
Link for Airport pick-ups (023 9226 9700). Metred taxis at airports
are expensive so booking is advisable.

By Taxi
By prior arrangement, taxis can be arranged to meet course delegates
from airports and railway stations. The taxi company we use is Rainbow Cars. Please contact our Course Administrator for more details.
By Road
Exit the M27 at junction 3 and take the M271 south towards Southampton
until it ends at a roundabout. Take the 3rd exit and join the A35
towards Lyndhurst. Follow this road over a flyover until you reach
another roundabout. Take the first exit left onto the A326 towards
Hythe and Fawley.
At the first set of traffic lights, turn left into
Jacobs Gutter Lane. Follow this road until you come to a roundabout.
Turn left here and then, after a short distance turn left into the
Marchwood Industrial Park. After following the entrance road for
½ mile turn right. Then either take the 2nd turning for the
Manned Models.
By Air
From Heathrow: From terminal 4 take the Southwest Trains coach link
to Woking and travel by rail from Woking to Southampton Central
taking approximately 2hours. Then see ‘By rail’.
From Gatwick: Take a train to Southampton Central.
Then see ‘By rail’.

The easiest way to get to the Marchwood site is via taxi from Southampton
Central station. Please pre arrange your taxi via our Course Administrator.
Alternatively: Nearest station to the Marchwood site
is Totton. This is a small-unmanned station available via connection
from Southampton Central. There is no taxi rank at Totton station
so pre-booking is required.
