The Engine Room Simulator consists
of an engine room control room with comprehensive distributed
control and electrical power and distribution systems, remotely
located emergency switchboard room and engine room. It is
ideal for team based engine room resource management training.
It can be linked to a bridge simulator to provide a total
ship simulation training environment.

Mission Bridge Simulator |

WMA's FMS training uses a newly commissioned Kongsberg Maritime Polaris bridge simulator with 270 degree horizontal view, which can be panned through 360 degrees and with offset views. Control equipment replicating various vessel configurations are available including single/twin screw, single/twin rudders, bow/stern thrusters and azipods. An extensive portfolio of ownships and database areas exists. Others can be built to order. Independent desktop consoles can drive two additional ownships/tugs.

The Steam Plant Simulator is a fully functioning
distributed control system for the steam plant of an LNG tanker.
The system includes full LNG boil-off burning control. It
can be used as stand-alone workstations for training individuals,
or as an integrated control room environment for engine room
resource management team training.

Cargo Operations Simulator |

The Liquid Cargo Operation Simulator (LICOS)
provides real time simulation of the process flow control
systems used in the storage and transfer of potentially hazardous
bulk liquids.
Currently LICOS is capable of representing the
controls, equipment, machinery, instrumentation and alarms
associated with 7 ship types:
- LNG (membrane)
- LNG (spherical)
- LPG
- VLCC
- Double Hull crude oil/products carrier
- Chemical tanker
- Floating production storage and offloading

Manned Model Lake |

Seven scale model ships are operated on a lake
of approximately 10 acres. They range from a 300,000 ton tanker
model to a twin screw superferry. The lake is laid out with
a variety of berths and channels including a canal incorporating
a curved section.

The Seamanship Centre at Warsash Maritime Academy
offers an excellent variety of facilities in which delegates
can develop skills and understanding in practical seamanship.
With equipment ranging from pilot ladders to scale models
of derricks and hatches, the centre provides an environment
from which effective learning can take place.

A fully equipped VTS simulator including Supervisor’s
and operators positions each having dual screens, VHF radio
and telephone. There is also a chart table and “White
board” to enable the most complex simulated VTS scenarios
to be exercised. Exercises can be monitored using radio, telephone
and CCTV for debrief purposes.
