Course Description
The ISM courses delivered at WMA have been modularised such that you can now complete the 2 day Internal Auditor Course and then return to “top-up” to achieve ISM/ISO 9000 Lead Auditor certification. The top-up course is a 3 day course which normally runs Wednesday to Friday. It a very practical, workshop based course. In order to be eligible to attend this course you must be able to demonstrate that you have attended and successfully completed the ISM Internal Auditor course at WMA, post September 2006. This prerequisite will be verified by the lecturer at enrolment; by sighting a valid certificate.
The International Safety Management/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and Internal Auditor courses are now delivered by a specialist supplier (Regs4ships). Being ex-flag state surveyors, MCA examiners, port state control inspectors and auditors themselves, they are able to provide recent and relevant operational and port state control experience. This is a unique and invaluable opportunity to be taught by very highly experienced practitioners who succeed in making the courses both high quality and extremely interesting. The students will leave with practical skills and knowledge of exactly what constitutes a workable and proportionate safety and quality system. Feedback from some recent (senior) students includes "the best training course he had ever attended" & "the practical workshops are an invaluable way of consolidating the theory, an excellent course".
