Course Description

Investigations into marine casualties consistently indicate that a major factor in their causes is a weakness in bridge organisation and management.

The course objectives concentrate on passage planning skills and bridge management techniques.

The combination of these essential skills enables the participants to recognise the importance of proper planning, threat assessment, effective communications and good teamwork. Candidates will also learn to identify and break developing error chains.

The issues of incorporating a pilot into the bridge team are also investigated.

Courses can be personalised to suit company specific needs. This may be by using specific "own ships" or constructing exercises and particular areas or circumstances.

A customer's own log books, checklists etc can also be provided.
