Course Description
This 0.5 day course is designed to provide the additional training by supplementary modules for those with current in-date UK certificates* and who now wish to work in other European sectors of the North Sea. The additional modules certificate is backdated to the date of the original safety course certification.
*who have previously attended either the UK 3-day Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) or the UK 1-day Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) course.
The Mutual Recognition of Basic & Refresher Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training between Oil & Gas UK, OLF (Norway), NSOC-D (Denmark) and NOGEPA (Netherlands) which came into effect in November 2007 and was revised in January 2011 is designed to harmonise offshore survival training standards within Europe.
This agreement indicates that additional module(s) involving the practical use of a vertical Escape Chute and also Lifesaving First Aid (if UK FOET was issued before 01.07.08) will satisfy the minimum training requirements for all four signatories. On completion of these additional module(s), delegates will be issued with the 'European Safety Training - Supplementary Module (to UK FOET) certificate' (FOETSM) - recognised for offshore personnel working in all sectors of the North Sea.
