Course Description

A 1 day course for existing holders of an in date BOSIET (or FOET) certificate. the refresher training covers the requirements in the UK offshore sector and other European sectors through a Supplementary Module involving practical use of a vertical Escape Chute.

It complements and refreshes existing emergency training, updates and reinforces the knowledge gained on the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course with regard to; helicopter escape(HUET), survival techniques, hand held fire fighting equipment & self-rescue techniques using smoke hoods and emergency First Aid.

The Mutual Recognition of Basic & Refresher Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training between Oil & Gas UK, OLF (Norway), NSOC-D (Denmark) and NOGEPA (Netherlands) which came into effect in November 2007 and was revised in January 2011 is designed to harmonise offshore survival training standards within Europe. For personnel intending to work in the European sectors of the offshore oil industry this course will satisfy the offshore survival training requirements within those sectors.

This agreement indicates that an additional module (to UK FOET) involving the practical use of a vertical Escape Chute will satisfy the minimum training requirements for all four signatories. On completion of this additional module, delegates will be issued with the 'European Safety Training - Supplementary Module (to UK FOET) certificate' (FOETSM) - recognised for offshore personnel working in all sectors of the North Sea.
