Am I eligible?

All full-time students are eligible to apply for accommodation. Although we do give priority to Phase 1 Induction Cadets, if you are a later Phase Cadet it is very likely that we will be able to offer you a room at our Warsash campus| or at Emily Davies Student Residence| in Southampton.

Can I see the accommodation?

Yes. As there are already students living in the Residences, viewings are limited to Open Days when particular Residences and rooms are available.

Can I bring my car, motorcycle or bicycle?

Yes, although on site parking is very limited, to have a good chance of securing one you should apply for a permit when you apply for accommodation. There are also free parking for motorcycles and free bicycle storage facilities available at Warsash. We also have an overflow car park on Newtown Road called Salterns, which is only short stroll from Warsash Campus.

How do I pay?

You can choose to pay all at once or by monthly installments.

I'm an international Cadets, can I apply for accommodation?

Of course international Cadets can apply for accommodation, just keep in mind the increased postal time if you’re posting your application to the UK.

What are the fees and what do they include?

The fees include rent for the study-bedroom, all utility bills, repairs and maintenance, cleaning of the communal areas and catering, depending on what type of tariff you have chosen.

What do I need to bring?

All study-bedrooms are furnished with a bed, chairs, desk, wardrobe, bookshelf space and bedding. It is a good idea to bring towels, hangers, an alarm clock and washing powder.

What happens if I cancel?

We realise that people's circumstances in life can change and that cancellations do occur. It's not a problem, but do let the Accommodation Office know in writing as early as possible.

What is the Electricity supply?

Electricity within the residences works on a 240 volts / 50 cycles and sockets take 13 amp square pin fused plugs.

Where is the accommodation?

There are two Warsash Residences in total all located directly on the campus. So, whether it's lectures, a session in the library, lunch or a workout in the gym, it's all close by.

The Emily Davies residence is in Southampton City Centre offers a designated bus service (included in the  accommodation fees) to take the Cadets to and from Warsash twice a day.
