Accommodation Fees
Rooms vary in price depending on what type of room you have, what food option you have chosen and the length of the residency agreement you wish to sign up for.
Rooms at the Southampton Emily Davies Residence vary in price dependent upon the size of the room. Emily Davies is configured into flats for three or four people and is normally set aside for Phase 3 to 7 Cadets.

How to pay
Installments
To make life easier, accommodation fees can be spread across the whole phase and paid in equal monthly instalments. Payment can be made by debit or credit card. Details of your payment method will be taken on arrival and held in a safe and secure manner.
All at once
If you prefer to get it out of the way, you can pay all your fees in one go before you get here or when you move in. To pay before you arrive or on arrival, you can use a credit/debit card.
How to Apply
Application and Pre-Payment
If you'd like to stay in the Cadet Residences, simply fill out the accommodation booking form| and include a pre-payment of £150 only if you are paying for your accommodation – please do not send cash. It's best to send credit or debit card details on the application form, and if you want to request a car parking space make sure you also fill in our car parking form|. It's important to include the pre-payment with your form because we can't start processing your application without it.
You can also indicate on the form whether you'd prefer single or a twin room and we will do our best but we can't always guarantee that these will be available when we are allocating you a room.
All Cadets in all levels of Phases are required to fill in and submit an accommodation application form. Click here to download an application form.
Postal Applications
If you are returning your accommodation application form via post, please return to:

Please do not send cash through the post.
Email Applications
If you would like to return your accommodation application form via email, please ensure that you sign the application form first and then email us a scanned copy.

If you are paying for your accommodation fees not your company, please do not forget to include your pre-payment of £150 with your application.

What happens next?
Once we have received your application form, we will process your booking and your £150 pre-payment (for private bookings only). We do not send confirmation letters to Induction Phase Cadets as we receive your name and booking confirmation from your shipping companies and accommodation on site is automatically booked for you.
For Phase 3, 5 or 7 Cadets we will send information to you regarding your application for accommodation, which will be done by email as we appreciate that the majority of you will be at sea. Don’t forget to make sure that we have an up to date email address for you.

Have a question on an aspect of your residency agreement?
Cancellation
We realise that people's circumstances in life can change and that cancellations do occur. It's not a problem, but do let the Accommodation Office know in writing at least 48 hours in advance or your £150 pre-payment will be kept as a cancellation charge.
