Moving In Procedure
To help your move into the Residence go as smoothly as possible, please find below an idea of what to do and what to expect when you get here:
1) Follow the signs as they will help guide you to the key pick up point.
2) If coming by car you will be able to park in the top car park next to the Residencies for up to an hour to enable you to unload. After this time we would need the car moved to the lower site car park or our overflow car park as space is limited.
Please note: There is likely to be a delay on entering the car park, your patience is appreciated.
Tip: Do not start unloading until you have the key to your room.
3) Once you have arrived at Warsash Maritime Academy, please follow the signs to the booking in room which will be for all Warsash Residencies and Phases.
Tip: There will be free tea and coffee on arrival, why not let your parents have a much needed rest whilst you get booked in. After all they'll need their strength to help you carry your stuff in.
4) Once you have been booked in, signed your forms and obtain your keys, a member of the accommodation team will direct you to your room.
Tip: Now would be a good time to complete your inventory form as whilst the room is empty it is easier to see what you have.
5) Now you know where you are going, start unloading your vehicle
Important: Ensure that anyone who offers to help you unload or carry your belongings is member of Warsash Academy staff (wearing a staff uniform) or Solent Angels (wearing brightly coloured t-shirts).
6) Once you have got your stuff in your room, pile it in a corner and save the unpacking for later
7) Move your car to the car parks on the lower site or the overflow car park, Salterns, on Newtown Road.
8) Take the opportunity to have a wander around the local area to help you get your bearings.
