Warsash Maritime Academy’s newest officers celebrate their passing out in Style

35 Navigation and Marine Engineer Officer Cadets from Southampton Solent University’s Warsash Maritime Academy celebrated their graduation to fully qualified Merchant Navy officers at the Academy’s Autumn passing out ceremony in Southampton’s De Vere Grand Harbour hotel last week.

The newly qualified officers will be embarking on their chosen careers in the global shipping industry, working with some of the most prestigious employers in the cruise, cargo, container, oil and gas sectors.

Top employers Anglo Eastern Group, Carnival UK, Chiltern Maritime, Clyde Marine Training, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Maersk Line, Princess Cruises and Shell Ship Management were represented at the ceremony.

John Millican, Dean of the Academy said: “We are extremely proud of our cadets’ achievements and are happy to launch such capable and confident young officers into the international shipping industry.”
