WMA Annual Careers Open Day
The annual careers open day, held on 21st January 2011, was the busiest ever - with over 750 visitors who came to meet with many of the sponsoring companies and find out more about a career at sea.
Visitors were treated to a MCA Coastguard helicopter rescue display, in conjunction with the Offshore Safety and Survival team of WMA, as well as a Pyrotechnics display.
Guests were also able to try their hand at driving a ship on our Bridge Simulators, as well as understanding how crews work together within an Engine Room Simulator.
The presentations, by Principal Lecturer John Onslow for Deck, and Senior Lecturer Rollo Tomkins were packed out, with people queuing to get in!
