WMA Lecturers at ABYA/YDSA Association Meeting
Two Senior Lecturers from Warsash Maritime Academy's Merchant Vessel Engineering section have been invited speak at the meeting of the Association of Brokers & Yacht Agents & The Yacht Designers & Surveyors' Association on Monday 28th November 2011 in Bristol.
Shaun Towers and Greg Wheatstone will be providing a lecture on Fuel Husbandry for Superyachts and will cover what fuel is, how its manufactured and processed and the typical onboard problems that superyachts might encounter. They will also be giving a practical demonstration how to test fuel for bugs, using a Immuno - Assay testing kit.
They will also be covering:
- Storage and on board fuel processing and systems
- Current regulations
- Fuel bugs and contamination
- Test kits and biocides
And will open a discussion and Q&A session.
Greg is the MCA Engineering Course Leader, and Shaun Towers is the Course Tutor for Yacht Engineering.
