The Royal Yachting Association (RYA)
The UK's national organisation representing the interests of everyone who goes boating for pleasure.

Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators Ltd (SIGTTO)
SIGTTO is a non profit making company, formed to promote high operating standards and best practices in gas tankers and terminals throughout the world.

Society of Maritime Industries

International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA)
IMPA is a professional, non-profit making body with a truly international outlook. It is primarily concerned with promoting professional standards of pilotage worldwide in the interests of pilots' safety. It seeks to fulfil this momentous task by encouraging both consultation between its members and the exchange of technical information with other industry partners and regulators at the local, national and international levels.

The Marine Society and Sea Cadets
Its role is to provide personal development opportunities and support in a maritime context for young people and professional seafarers from all the sea services.

Maritime Volunteer Service
A civilian maritime organisation allied to the Merchant Navy and following many customs, ethos and values of both the Merchant and Royal Navy. With a strong empathise on training members and the public on all apsects of maritime knowledge and safety, and supporting local communities. 

UK Offshore Operators Association Ltd
UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) is the representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. Its members are companies licensed by the Government to explore for and produce oil and gas in UK waters.

The Nautical Institute

The International Association for Safety and Survival Training (IASST)
Founded in 1980 by a group of major safety training providers whose aim was to enhance the quality of emergency response training by encouraging an interchange of knowledge and experience between training providers on a global basis.

Careers at Sea

Provides in depth information on careers in the Merchant Navy, the training involved and how to apply including shipping companies/training organisations that offer sponsorship opportunities. is the result of KNOWME, the European academic and industry network for innovative maritime training, education and R&D. The aim of the project was to improve the image of the European maritime industry and interest young talent in joining it. The portal offers background information on the industry in general as well as on the various career possibilities on and off shore.

Seavision is a national on-going campaign to enthuse young people about maritime career opportunities. Awareness of, and interest in, the diversity of the maritime/marine sector is promoted through educational and maritime career related activities for 11 to 22 year olds.

NotGoingToUni is dedicated to helping young people make informed decisions about their future by showing the opportunities that exist outside of university.
