About this course

The highly practical and hands-on Luxury Hospitality Beverage Specialist aims to develop students' service mindset and increase confidence and expertise in the different styles and techniques of producing the perfect drink for guests.

Students will spend six days immersed in the world of cocktail training, sommelier skills and wine knowledge, and the art of making the ultimate cup of tea or coffee.

Training will take place at locations designed to inspire learning for each module, for example, a winery for wine appreciation modules, and a stately home for tea and coffee skills.

The course includes the following modules:

Bartending and mixology  Wine appreciation 
Role of the Beverage Specialist  Service and wine tasting 
Bar Tools and Equipment  Viniculture and Vinification, and Climate 
Use of Cocktail Equipment  Wines of France 
History of the Cocktail and the Classics  Wines of the World 
Read and Understand Recipes  Food and Wine Pairing 
Pouring and Shaking Techniques  Labelling and Pronunciation 
Spirit Knowledge  Wine List Maintenance 
Tasting  Wine Storage 
A Balanced Drink  Specific Yacht Service 
Creativity with Ingredients   
Create a Menu   
Speed Training   


Upon successful completion of the training, you'll receive:

  • Luxury Hospitality Group certificate - Luxury Hospitality Beverage Specialist
  • PYA GUEST certificate - Advanced Wine Appreciation, Module 2
  • PYA GUEST certificate - Advanced Bartending and Mixology - Module 2
  • WSET certificate - Level 2 Award in Wine and Spirits
  • Luxury Hospitality Group certificate - Latte Art and Specialist Teas
