Chief Engineer (Y3) - Statutory and Operational Requirements

About this course

This course is based on lecturer led learning and revision, followed by the exam on the afternoon of the final day.  

A full set of study notes is provided on application and six weeks’ preparatory study must be undertaken prior to attending the academy.

    • SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, International Convention on Load Lines (ICLL), International Labour Organisation (ILO)
  • Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA)
  • Classification societies
  • Planned maintenance systems
  • Surveys
  • Dry-docking
  • Voyage planning
  • Fuel consumption
  • Emergency
