Leadership and Management Development

About this course

Enhances knowledge, understanding and skills required to manage effectively small teams in a range of contexts.

It can be tailored for organisations’ in-house training and development, enabling participants to learn from their experiences and supporting those in new or expanding leadership and management roles.

Participants are introduced to aspects of leadership and management, working with people and teams and managing change. Participants reflect on their own experiences through discussion and self-assessment, group exercises and case studies.

A practical and theoretical grasp of leadership and management skills benefits professionals within their working environments, enriches organisations and enhances individual career opportunities.

The student-centred approach delivers interactive workshops mixed with independent study. It draws on participants’ real-life experiences and case studies. Handouts, references and other learning materials are provided in sessions, which incorporate group work and personal study.

Face-to-face, telephone and online tutorials and the University’s online learning resource, Solent Online Learning, provide formative feedback and support.
