Superyacht cadetships

Superyacht crewWe have introduced a new officer cadet training programme specifically tailored to the superyacht industry. The programme is the first to lead to the issue of a UK MCA Officer of the Watch (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency (CoC).

The programme follows the Merchant Navy deck officer cadet foundation degree route, with the fundamental MCA underpinning knowledge units such as bridge watchkeeping, chartwork, ship stability and cargo work, but includes additional superyacht specific units such as superyacht operations, paint care and hospitality.

Upon completion of the programme you'll gain an FdSc Marine Operations and an OOW (Unlimited) CoC. This qualification will allow you to work on any size of vessel, and could give you the edge when applying for positions on superyachts that ask for officers with an Unlimited certification.

The academic entry requirements are the same as the Merchant Navy cadetship programme, and sponsorship is available to students who wish to enrol.
