bridge-simulatorWe are proud to have both pioneered the use of simulators during the 1970s and to have been world leaders for several decades in the provision of higher level simulation training for bridge, engine room, liquid cargo operations and manned model ship handling.
Solent University has invested over £5.5 million since 2009 in the development of our simulation facilities to ensure that we remain at the forefront of international maritime education and training. In recent years we have opened our ship handling centre at Timsbury Lake, two ECDIS suites and our full mission engine room simulator.
engine-room-simulatorThe Academy has approval from the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) to offer all of the course modules and programmes required to obtain an internationally recognised Certificate of Competency (CoC).
For detailed information on all of our courses, please see All Courses or the relevant section of interest on the left.
