Accommodation options

Returning cadets are able to apply for accommodation in the David Moxon and Emily Davies student residences.

All accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis with fully-equipped kitchens. Study-bedrooms are furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and bookshelf.

The David Moxon residence offers single-occupancy en-suite study bedrooms.

The Emily Davies residence offers single-occupancy non-en-suite bedrooms in small cluster flats, which are configures as either:

  • 3-bedroom flat: 1 medium, 1 large, 1 extra-large (suitable for two-person occupancy) room
  • 4-bedroom flat: 2 small, 1 medium, 1 large bedroom

Room sizes:

  • Small: 2.6m x 2.1m
  • Medium: 3m x 2.6m
  • Large: 4m x 2.6m
  • Extra-large: 5.2m x 4.2m

How to apply

  • Applications should be submitted via the online accommodation system. Applications can be submitted as soon as the online applications for the relevant academic year are made available.
  • A prepayment of £250 is required to accept an accommodation offer.
  • Room offers not accepted by the deadline date may be withdrawn and the room offered to another cadet.
  • Permission to disclose forms are required if you want the accommodation team to discuss your application with a third party (ie, parent or sponsor)
  • Sharing a room (twin in Emily Davies only): both parties must name each other when submitting an application.

Contract dates

  • A continuous fixed-term contract aligned with your course dates, as provided by the Warsash course administration, covers holiday periods - Christmas and/or Easter
  • Extension of contracts are available for exam preparation or re-sits.

Your contract

  • Parcels and post can be delivered to you at the residence during the contract period.
  • Room cleaning service is not provided. The residence cleaning team will clean communal areas, such as, kitchens, corridors and stairwells.

Room allocation policy

  • Rooms are allocated in date order of applications received, subject to availability.
  • There is no guarantee you will be offered your first choice. However every effort will be made to offer as high a preferred choice as possible from those selected in your application.

Parking

Limited parking is available and will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis. Parking is charged at a rate of £10.85 per week for residents and £15.05 +VAT per week for non-residents.
