Indonesian Government visit to the Ship Handling Centre

Indonesian-visit-webA group of official delegates from the Indonesian Government attending the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) conference took a day out of their schedule to visit our Ship Handling Centre on Wednesday 27 November 2013.

The delegates met with Dr David Gatfield, Head of School of Maritime Training and Russ Gray, Principal Lecturer. After a presentation from Russ the visitors were given a tour of the ship handling lake with Gordon Maxwell, Senior Lecturer. They also went on board the new container ship, which was launched in May of this year. The container ship is modelled on a real 365m, 13,300 TEU container ship and is the largest vessel in the fleet.
