The MNTB has initiated a full review of training and education for all UK trained seafarers.
Called 'Training 2025', the review was kick-started at the MNTB's Training Seminar in November 2014 where a range of issues, concerns and activities were identified that were impacting on training programmes for new entrants at rating and officer level, as well as senior officer certification, and for those seeking to move ashore.
Within this review IAMI has created a questionnaire for all interested parties to comment on what skills and training they believe should be undertaken by deck and engineer officers, as well as AB/deck ratings.
Click the relevant link below to complete the questionnaire online:
Views of all seafarers will be combined with those of company technical managers and the UK Regulator to ensure that skills and training provided at all levels will enable seafarers to effectively fulfil their roles on board.
For more information about the review, please visit the MNTB Review website.
