Changes to updated training week schedule

Following the introduction of updated training courses, as a result of the STCW 2010 Manila Amendments, it has become apparent that as the 1 January 2017 date for compliance is getting ever closer the demand for course availability will increase.

Following recent discussions with several shipping companies regarding the industry's anticipated increased requirements for updated training courses, we have taken the decision to respond quickly in order to continue to support this training and to help meet demand. As importantly, we have also sought to improve the training experience by reducing class sizes where possible.

This has necessitated changes both to the format of our scheduled updated training weeks and to the sequence in which they are delivered.

For imminent courses with delegates already booked onto them we apologise for any inconvenience and hope that this statement provides the rationale behind the changes. By introducing these changes from September onwards it is hoped that those delegates affected will have received sufficient notice to reduce any inconvenience and impact that might have been caused.

We remain committed to supporting the maritime industry in all aspects of training and ensuring that the training received by our delegates is of the highest quality.

If you have any queries regarding these changes to the schedule, please contact Nigel Hare, head of maritime training, by email.
